All international students are required to purchase and maintain health insurance throughout the duration of their academic program at the University of Redlands. The University strongly recommends that students review their health insurance policies to ensure their policy provides coverage/benefits to the health care facilities located near their campus location.
All currently enrolled students can use the Student Health Center regardless of their insurance. Medical visits are free; however, there is a charge for lab tests, immunizations, and prescription medications. The Student Health Center does not process or bill insurance.
Minimum Health Insurance Requirement for International Students
To satisfy program requirements, you must maintain health and emergency evacuation insurance during your entire program that meets the minimum standards set by the University of Redlands with respect to the following:
International students enrolled in a School of Business program may use their current insurance or purchase insurance through any provider they choose, as long as the limits above are met. Major providers include ISO Insurance or GeoBlue.
Regardless of which option students choose they must supply proof of coverage no later than 2 weeks prior to their program start date.
Yes. International students studying in the U.S. need an F-1 or J-1 visa.
International students who receive an I-20 from the University of Redlands will not be granted an I-20 transfer until the completion of 16 weeks of class.
You may choose to live with friends or family, or find housing in one of the many apartment buildings close to campus.
A TOEFL minimum score of 213 for the computer-based test or 80 for the Internet-based test is required for international students whose primary language is not English.
An IELTS minimum score of 6.5 will also satisfy the language requirement.
Yes, students will be assigned to a Student Services Manager who assists students with academic schedules, course changes, and tutoring requests.
The University’s Armacost Library offers full academic library services on campus and via the Internet.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion serves as a catalyst to the campus community on matters related to diversity, multicultural programming and cultural pluralism.
Many of our degree programs require fieldwork or internship hours, which may be completed in a variety of school, non-profit and clinical settings. The School of Education assists students is finding these opportunities.

Students take one or two classes per term. Each term is 8 weeks long.
Classes are generally held in the evening from 6-10 pm and some Saturdays
The GRE is not required, however, applicants are welcome to send scores as an additional optional piece of the application.
