Public Safety would like to advise the community of an incident that occurred on October 31st adjacent to the Redlands campus on Colton Ave. This information is being provided for awareness and safety purposes.
On October 31, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Public Safety was contacted by University students residing in the Billings House on Colton Ave. near Sylvan Park. These students were approached by a male adult walking on Colton Ave. near University St. who began shouting at them and chased them on foot as they fled to their organizational house off campus. Once the students were inside the house with the door locked, the male subject reached for the doorknob and kicked the door before leaving the area. Public Safety officers immediately responded and checked the area but were not able to locate the responsible individual. The Redlands Police Department was also notified of the incident and shared the information with their officers.
Photos of the individual in question are attached for safety and awareness considerations.
As a reminder, Public Safety distributed another safety advisory yesterday concerning different incidents involving a different individual. All members of the University community should take reasonable precautions to ensure their greatest level of safety both on and off campus.
If you see something suspicious, report it:
Our highest priority remains the safety and security of our campus community members. Please contact Public Safety at 909-748-8888 or ext. 8888 with any questions.
