Student Involvement and Success is pleased to announce Connections, a three-day (two-night), retreat for students, is back again this fall. Connections is designed to help students develop connections, celebrate the semester's triumphs, and promote personal growth. Each day students will participate in a variety of activities, both peer and individual, intended to cause reflection and create bonds. The retreat will culminate with students applying their experiences by setting goals for the next semester.
Participants must be students committed to attending all three days of the retreat. Preference will be given to new students but all students may apply. This experience is completely free of charge, but we do require $20 deposit to reserve your space. This deposit will be returned at the end of the retreat to those who attended. If you are unable to attend, the deposit will be non-refundable. Scholarships are available to those interested; for more information please email sis@redlands.edu.
Meals, transportation and housing will be provided for you during that time. The retreat will begin Friday night, October 4th, with an evening welcome and activities. Then on Saturday morning we will leave campus and return to campus on Monday, October 7th. (Note: Fall Break is October 7-8, 2024).
Only 20 Seats available.
Connections is an annual retreat hosted by Student Involvement and Success that helps students make friends, grow personally, and rejuvenate from the semester in an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie. Retreat activities are planned and led by the professional facilitators.
Connections is not a typical retreat! They will focus on areas such as intercultural fluency, self-assessment, teamwork, problem-solving, creating goals, and communication. The activities are fun and engaging!
The retreat takes place on campus the first day, and then on the second day we will travel up to the mountains. This year's Connections Retreat will take place at YMCA Camp Arbolado up in the San Bernardino National Forest (less than an hour from campus).
The first night of the retreat you sleep wherever you normally sleep since we will not be leaving campus until the second day of the retreat. We will sleep in cabins that have an open floor plan with bunk beds.
The retreat is an all or nothing experience. Each activity builds on each other in hopes that friendships are cultivated.
