FPO-200x200-02.jpgArtist Statement

I got clay on my hands before I started grade school. The ensuing artistic forays into different mediums throughout my childhood were nearly chaotic: I had to try my hand at nearly every kind of art I saw. And so, sketchbooks and calligraphy pens, fabric and yarn, cameras and editing software, and undoubtedly more supplies began to be amassed.

Much of my art was created more for seeing how it was made than for the creation itself. I have this exploratory nature still.

At this point in my artistic career, I am focusing on synthesis. Combining the creative and the analytical; blending functional and sculptural. There is rarely a tool that is made to do one thing that cannot be used to accomplish another.
