My teaching interests lie in building mathematical foundations for calculus students and introducing students to mathematical topics for the liberal arts (voting theory, apportionment, etc.). I am also interested in the mathematical education of current and prospective teachers.
In 2005, 2006, I was a participant in two week-long conferences focusing on Preparing Mathematician to Educate Teachers (PMET) at SUNY in Oswego, NY.
I was also involved in a consortium, funded by an NSF grant, in which we piloted the Mathematics Preparation Initiative Program to improve the mathematical understanding of middle school math teachers.
