The Study Away Ambassador Program is a volunteer opportunity for students to share their global perspectives and study away stories, raise awareness and interest in study away, and inspire other Bulldogs and prospective Redlands students to engage in diverse cross-cultural learning experiences.
The program initiated from the 2021 Inclusive Community and Justice Fund as the First-Gen Study Away Ambassador program. In subsequent years the program has evolved to a more comprehensive Study Away Ambassador program with a cohort of Ambassadors that still serve as First-Gen Study Away Ambassadors.
This program allows ambassadors to help students understand that study away is a possibility for students while at Redlands, to assist students in preparing for their own study away experiences, and provide a space for ambassadors to reflect on and share their study away experiences.
By serving as a Study Away Ambassador, students will develop concrete skills to articulate the value of their study away experience in their personal, professional and academic endeavors. As an Ambassador, students will also strengthen their leadership skills and expand their networks.
We ask that applicants are current Redlands students have already completed, or have concrete plans to participate in, a Redlands semester or May term travel course (OPEN TO ALL MAJORS). Students are expected to at least participate in one full semester of activities, but can continue for a longer time.
